Sam Lim (they/them/theirs) is an educator and educational consultant based in Salem, MA. They have dedicated their professional career to LGBTQ+ advocacy across K-12 and higher education. Sam currently leads LGBTQ+ programs and services at Salem State University. Active in the community, they joined the Board of North Shore Pride in 2021 and are also Co-Chair of the City of Salem, MA’s Mayor’s Human Rights Coalition and a member of the Mayor’s Cultural Council and Scholarship & Education Committee.
Prior to moving to Salem, Sam was a public high school teacher and equity-based instructional coach in Atlanta, Georgia. They served as the Founding Chair of the Board of Directors for Teach For America’s PRISM Metro Atlanta LGBTQ+ Coalition and the inaugural Senior Diversity Officer and a member of the Board of Directors for The Atlanta Pride Committee. Originally from Syracuse, NY, Sam holds a B.A. in Languages & Literatures from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. They are pursuing the M.Ed. in Higher Education in Student Affairs at Salem State University, with expected completion in 2022.
